broken wings left in the gray depository
waiting for sun
to be lifted
out
into the world
suffocating
broken with shame
untoward to the racist grins
smirks
telling the nascent babe
of birch and stain
of stench posing as
civilization
hatred
huffing with
bitter
spotty
contractions
I don’t want you to see me
and with the
certainty
of my one sinless act
of the day
I know you really don’t want to see
anyone
unless you have realized
you too
are one
of
us
